We looked at many types of fibers with the Celestron Microscope. Sorry it has taken so long to get this finished! We have had snow and ice with school being closed or delayed many days. Wellston would like to wish each school around the world Happy Holidays!

Ohio Rocks

Two more common Ohio Rocks. The first is limestone, commonly found here, often with fossils in it. It is sedimentary. The second is slate, a metamorphic rock which was originally shale. These were both taken with the Miscope at about 100x.

Fall leaves

Taken with new digital camera.

Here in Ohio, we are experiencing the fall season. Our leaves fall off the trees and change from green to red, yellow, orange and purple. The reason for this is the days are shorter and the chlorophyll is no longer being made, so the other colors come out of the leaves that were hidden in the summer by the green.
